Gaze Inwardly
Rise above your storm, gaze inwardly.
The storm you encounter in your wake still rages on. You are not conscious of it yet, but you have already made a choice. The resignation to go back into slumber, or even to end the life of this warm vessel your spirit occupies, are some of the immediate comforting acts that many have resorted to. But not you. Hopelessness may be the immediate emotion that you feel, for yes, it is quite the expected one, especially when you awaken to what feels and looks like hell. But something in you has committed an act that opposes this idea, that refuses to accept what it has known, to give up, and that it has decided to do something more. It is the you, the real you. The one with different lenses, that see’s differently, but you do not know it yet.
Who are you? What constitutes the “I”? For the very first time, you gaze your focus inwardly. These questions, these dialogues, with self, are necessary. Slowly, you will start to understand, that the “I” isn’t you, and it never was. Why? The answers will come as you delve deeper into your self. Now, you must stop. You must observe. This is the next act, and the first of many conscious acts in your new life that you must perform. The you has been reacting for the entirety of the life that was never yours. Like a fallen leaf on the currents of a raging river, subject to every wave and movement, never in control. Your transcendence requires you to stop and gaze inwardly. To step outside of who you never were, to observe.
